The object was flown over an Airbus A320 at 1,700ft as it descended in March, an official report said.

A report, published by the UK Airprox Board (UKAB), which looks at improving safety in the air, said that the device could have been a balloon but that it was more likely to have been a drone: the pilot said that it was “rectangular and appeared to be propeller driven, like a drone”. The Pilot did not make an assessment of the risk of collision.
