Aeroflot yesterday announced the recruitment of first foreign pilot from Germany, to operate Prague service on 24-Sep-2014. Another pilot from Germany and the Czech Republic are undergoing approval procedures.
Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Savelyev said: “Today is a historic day. For the first time in the history of Russia, a foreign citizen will operate Aeroflot equipment. It is very important that due to recruitment of foreign pilots, we will increase deployment of the nation’s own pilots who will operate in pairs with foreign pilots and prepare for pilot exams.”
Despite the fact that the aviation industry reduced the rate of growth in 2014, growth continues, therefore the need for pilots remains.
The Russian carrier plans to recruit 80 foreign pilots.
