Ogun State Government Plans Airport Construction

Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun stated his administration would construct an airport before the end of his term in 2019.

Ogun State Governor, Ibikumle Amosun. Ogun is a state in southwestern Nigeria. Created in 1976, it borders Lagos State to the south, Oyo and Osun states to the north, Ondo State to the east and the Republic of Benin to the west. Abeokuta is the capital and largest city in the state.

Mr Amosun stated an airport would facilitate Ogun’s socioeconomic development, and that an airport “is a necessity, not a luxury”. Ogun State will partner with private investors interested in developing Ogun’s transportation sector, with agriculture and environment also key areas for development.
