São Tomé & Príncipe Confirmed As Host of World Travel Awards Africa 2017

Realtours and the Associação Empresarial de São Tomé e Príncipe have revealed they have reached an agreement with World Travel Events for the right to host the World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony 2017.

World Travel Awards™ was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.

The event will be held in the city of São Tomé, with major sponsors including CST, Mota Engil and HBD already confirmed.

This is in addition to official institutional and financial support from the government of São Tomé & Príncipe.

The World Travel Awards comprises a series of regional galas throughout the year before a Gran Final Gala Ceremony each year.

The winners of each regional gala move forward to the Grand Final.

São Tomé & Príncipe has been chosen to host the African Gala Ceremony in 2017 in an event that will bring all relevant African players in the industry to our country for what is expected to be a stunning celebration and recognition of excellence and outstanding achievements in the hospitality industry.

Realtours and the Associação Empresarial de São Tomé e Príncipe have been appointed as local organisers of the gala which is expected to definitively contribute to the international promotion of the country, ensuring huge media attention with over 90 million viewers worldwide through CNBC and TV5Monde and a considerable spread in terms of written press.

A series of promotional events will be launched as of now to start building up for what will be one of the major events ever held in São Tomé & Príncipe.
